Project Details

Design System

Creating the company from the ground-up, we built the foundation on the platform in the Design System. The elements were crafted with intentionality, maintaining the core values and mission of Athens Era.

Website

The website is developed on Wordpress, additional CSS, and with various plug-ins for commmunication and payment features. There are two distinct user flows for artists and buyers.

Artists

By establishing a platform specifically curated for Athens artists, it has never been easier for buyers to shop locally and support small businesses all while connecting with the community.

Marketplace

Athens Era offers a marketplace for artists and buyers to come together and exchange products. Using the wordpress plug-in, Dokan, we have been able to set up necessary steps for vendors to sell directly to users on the site.

Meet the

Team

Kelly May Sheehan

Kelly May graduated from The University of Georgia in 2022 with a Bachelors in Business Administration, major in Risk Management and Insurance, and a certificate in Actuarial Science. As much as she enjoyed serious math problems and data analytics, the path was not fulfilling her creative personality. She discovered the intersection of business, design, and technology at the UGA New Media Institute and has not looked back. She will be graduating with a Masters in Emerging Media in May 2023, pursuing a career in UX/UI Design and Research. Fun fact: Kelly May started her own art business, kellymay.art, selling commissioned acrylic paintings.

Zoë Phalen

Zoë Phalen graduated from the University of North Georgia in 2022 with Bachelors in English with a speciality in Writing and Publication, while minoring in Spanish. While completing her undergraduate degree, Zoë fell in love with Information Architecture and wanted to pursue the digital design field further. She discovered the opportunity to do so with UGA's NMI and immediately applied. She will be graduating in May of 2023 with a Masters in Emerging Media and plans to pursue a career in UX/UI Design and Graphic Design. Fun fact: Zoë has 7 tattoos and has designed tattoos for four of her friends!
